Ecommerce Director

Position Summary


The eCommerce Director will lead the digital strategy and implementation of our client’s online retail operations, including: Web and mobile sites, mobile apps, sales processing distribution partnerships and back-end processes. This role will work closely with the BORN leadership team to drive the business vision and requirements for D2C and B2C clients. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work in a dynamic, timeline driven environment, successfully collaborating with various 3rd party vendors and software consulting firms to design, review and oversee the implementation of e-commerce solutions in line with our clients’ needs.

  • Drive and manage clients e-commerce strategy and implementation, providing thought leadership and process improvement for clients e-commerce and omni-channel strategy and implementation
  • Provide price estimates and delivery dates for the support and development of projects
  • Collaborate with our clients, technology partners and cross functional groups within BORN to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of development and support activities
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for technology risks and potential issues
  • Conduct periodic reviews with partners on SLA’s, performance metrics, escalations, change requests and improvement plans
  • Strong project management abilities; able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight time constraints and within budget parameters.
  • Communicate and train customer service / support personnel on new site features and releases
  • Participate in the high level technical solution and design during the implementation phase with the goal of providing reliable, stable and operationally sound applications that meet business requirements




  • Experience driving campaigns and customer engagement, directly or indirectly impacting conversion, with a proven focus on ROI
  • Exceptional leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and relationship management abilities to get things done across a large, complex organizations
  • Ability to manage priorities and cross-functional teams
  • Experience with digital marketing or web analytics (Omniture, Google Analytics, WebTrends, etc.)
  • Ability to assess disparate and sophisticated data streams and distill them into meaningful and, ultimately, actionable strategic recommendations
  • Courage to confidently express an independent point of view
  • Five plus years experience in e-commerce and omni-channel commerce
  • Experience with Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and Hybris preferred
  • Experience with search engines and search technologies
  • Experience in Agile development methodology preferred
  • Awareness/experience in DevOps a plus
  • Ability to articulate business value of e-commerce investments/projects and collaborate with partners and cross functional groups during implementations
  • Ability to work with multi-national teams, understand and respect cultural diversity and develop messages that help achieve objectives with diverse audiences
