Senior Visual Designer

BORN is currently seeking a proactive and passionate Senior Visual Designer to join the New York Creative team.
In this role you will be responsible for leading and elevating the overall creative and strategic vision of your projects from start to finish, mentor junior team members, and support the business development team on a variety of high profile projects.
Applicants should have proven ability to lead projects using best-in-class design processes, principles, and trends as well as an ability to work fast and manage your own time. Responsibilities include:
- Lead and present the creative vision and strategy of medium to large scale projects from start to finish under the guidance of the Creative Director (CD), Associate Creative Director (ACD) and in collaboration with the UX project lead
- Create and maintain design deliverables using tools such as Sketch, Figma and InVision (we build 90%+ of our projects using these tools)
- Assist the business development team and ACD in client-facing pitches, deck creation, estimations and proposals
- Sell the benefits of BORN's creative process, the importance of UI within our approach and why a solid UI strategy is good for business
- Work seamlessly with CD and ACD and assist in mentoring junior designers by providing feedback and oversight on production work and deliverables
- Collaborate with neighboring departments throughout each phase of the project cycle to drive decisions, reusability, mitigate issues and ensure that business and tech specifications are implemented
- Have strong interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders, including client management
- A minimum of 5 years agency experience in a dedicated web, visual or UI design role
- A portfolio of high-caliber, strategic web-based design deliverables and prototypes for B2B and B2C e-commerce clientele
- Ability to create strong prototypes for client presentations in a variety of prototyping programs (we build 90%+ of our projects in Sketch, Figma + InVision)
- Ability to successfully present and communicate compelling stories around your design process, decisions and new ideas to project team and client stakeholders
- Advanced knowledge in Photoshop
- Excellent written and verbal communication and experience using this in a client-facing role
- Experience working with developers on multiple platforms and in a range of software development methodologies
- Great work ethic and sense of ownership and accountability
- A detail-oriented, creative and strategic approach to project work while possessing strong time management and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work on and manage multiple projects at a time
- Previous experience with the Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud (Demandware) and/or SAP Hybris platforms
- Knowledge of InVision Studio, InVision DSM and Adobe XD
- Knowledge of creating advanced prototype animation in tools such as Principal, Flinto and Proto.io (or similar)
- Knowledge of how to create and maintain a design system
- Proficiency in Keynote
- Experience with photography or videography content creation
- Understanding of major social media platforms and how user generated content plays into the e-commerce and omni-channel user journey
