Pantaloons is a division of ‘Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd.’ (ABFRL). One of India’s most loved fashion brands, with 344+ stores across 170+ towns and cities. Pantaloons offer a versatile collection of retail goods with over 100 licensed and international brands, including their exclusive in-house brands.

Brief

Pantaloons.com is the official online store for Pantaloons in India. BORN was tasked with designing a new eCommerce website for a personalized shopping experience through upgraded UX/UI strategy and mobile app development.

CHALLENGE

Pantaloons’ website required fresh UI designs and an enhanced personalized customer journey through third-party API integration. A mobile app also needed to be developed across multiple devices to improve brand recognition, conversion rates and revenue growth.

Our Approach

The goal of this project was to revitalize the UX/UI through creative discovery and data gathering. The BORN teams utilized technology including Adobe and Clevertap for data collection, NodeJs for API development and Algonomy for real-time decision making. This integration of software created a customized shopping experience for increased sales revenue.

BACKGROUND

HanesBrands Inc. is a socially responsible manufacturer and marketer of leading everyday basic apparel with some of the world’s strongest apparel brands in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia and South Africa.

BRIEF

BORN was tasked with streamlining HanesBrands Global Business by consolidating the software platforms and third-party vendors used across their brands.

GOALS

The goal of this project was to consolidate all brands, Champion, JMS, Maidenform, WonderBra, One Hanes Place, Game 7 Athletics and Balibras, housed under HanesBrands by condensing the number of different software platforms being used to operate each brand’s website while lowering the overall cost of ownership for the client.

CHALLENGE

With several websites operating on monolithic platforms such as IBM Websphere, it was essential to consolidate platforms before their software license renewal in June 2020. As a result of having too many vendors operating different sites, it made running each solution not only disjointed but expensive.

BACKGROUND

Founded in 2014, PopSockets is a leader in designing and selling grips, mounts, and wallets for smartphones and personal digital devices. PopSockets sells its products directly to consumers through its eCommerce site and in partnership with brick-and-mortar retailers. In 2018 PopSockets LLC was listed as #2 on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing companies in America.

BRIEF

PopSockets sought to redesign its current Salesforce Commerce Cloud site to be mobile-optimized and appeal to its target audience through engaging content and user experience.

GOALS

The project aimed to reimagine a responsive, personalized customer experience for PopSockets by leveraging BORN’s creative and content expertise. Our goal was to design a flexible framework for PopSockets to support its new product launches and initiatives.

CHALLENGE

How to better understand PopSockets’ customer base, cater the digital experience to their preferences, and attract a new generation of brand enthusiasts.

SOLUTION

Our approach was to maximize customer lifetime value by identifying key personas, goals and tailoring the purchase experience to their needs. We also partnered with the PopSockets team to develop a new direction for the brand’s global vision to impact social and environmental change while weaving their brand DNA into each customer touchpoint.

BALANCING DISCOVERABILITY & EFFICIENCY

We used our findings from a Card Sorting exercise to overhaul the site’s Information Architecture and redesign the navigation. By reorganizing the site structure and strategically placing copy and images within the navigation, we aimed to seamlessly guide users through PopSockets’ wide assortment of products.

PERSONAS & PERSONALIZATION

We identified four target personas and designed an experience that kept their needs and goals top-of-mind. We also looked for opportunities to serve up personalized content and recommendations for these personas throughout their purchasing journeys. Since PopSockets’ unique products work well together as an ecosystem, we included playful educational moments to illustrate possible combinations and encourage experimentation.

TELLING THE RIGHT STORY

BORN created a high-level content strategy to help PopSockets tell the right story to their target audience. The deliverable included a brand statement and guidelines, tone and voice, content strategies, and a high-level SEO audit for improved search results and page placement on search engines. This equipped the client with the confidence to produce compelling, consistent content in the future.

A FRESH BRAND IMAGE

Our goal was to take a fresh, modern approach to the brand’s visual language while retaining PopSockets’ playful brand identity. The result was a tappable interface with simple, intuitive interactions that lets the youthful energy of the visual elements shine through.

OUTCOME

BORN was able to deliver the site redesign within six months, from discovery to launch. With new features, an updated interface, and refreshed content, PopSockets now offers a more engaging, user-friendly shopping experience.

LONG-TERM VALUE

We plan to continue partnering with the PopSockets team to realize their vision of allowing users to fully customize their bestselling products through an innovative purchase flow.

Solution

BORN provides Condé Nast with a 24/7 production model, coupled with CITO, its bespoke collaborative publishing solution. This combination enables Condé Nast the flexibility it needs to coordinate creative input from various sources to produce the final content. CITO enables real-time review, annotation, and approval by all key stakeholders.

Outcome

The final output from BORN encompassed print, digital, and online editions. BORN provides ongoing, high-quality color retouching, design, and page make-up services. These are all channeled through its proprietary flat-plan production solution, CITO.

Telling the Right Story

Our focus was on creating a meaningful digital experience to ensure Yamaha’s story was told to the right users, at the right time, and in the right way. We leveraged analytics to ensure every decision was driven by actionable data to increase conversion, Average Order Value (AOV), and stickiness on their site.

Delivering on the Vision

During the discovery phase, we conducted user research activities to become fully immersed in the Yamaha brand vision, existing experience, business goals, competitive landscape, and key technical considerations. This informed the blueprint for the entire project.

Enhancing the User Experience

Our UX & Design teams analyzed user behavior to create a better overall user experience for the new Yamaha website. We created an experiential and visual design direction that laid the foundation for all digital environments, all while ensuring emotional resonance with Yamaha customers.
