BackgroundJD Sports is a British, sports-fashion retail company based in Greater Manchester. They have shops throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, the USA, Asia, and Australia.
BriefJD Sports has in-house production capabilities to service its own marketing needs, which encompass photography, high-end retouching, product matching, and creative art-working. However, the business wanted to find ways to make itself more efficient, particularly around seasonal flex, budgetary control, and standardizing quality standards.
GoalsAssess JD Sport’s operational efficiency for content production and propose areas where cost, process, and quality improvements could be found.
While the in-house studio was convenient for executing marketing needs, it also carried a high operational cost. The reliance on external freelance resources meant that quality became inconsistent and errors within the manufacturing process were common.
